The Essex County Bar Association mourns the passing of its first and longest serving Executive Director, Maureen McCully Winograd. Maureen, known affectionately as “Mo”, 79, passed away on Friday, September 5th in New York. Maureen served as the Executive Director of the ECBA from 1978 until her retirement in 2003. Maureen served as a Trustee of the Legal Services Foundation of Essex County since 1982 and was an Officer and Trustee of the Essex County Legal Aid Association from 1979 until 2014. She also helped establish Volunteer Lawyers for Justice and served as a trustee from 2001-2016. Maureen dedicated more than 27 years of her life to the Essex County Bar Association and is largely responsible for helping the organization grow into the successful organization it is today.
