The Essex County Bar Association mourns the passing of Joel Siegal on August 15, 2025. Mr. Siegal was a long-time member of the Essex County Bar Association and practiced law for more than 60 years. He began his career as a law clerk to the Honorable Arthur S. Lane, United States District Court of New Jersey, and thereafter the Honorable Philip Forman, United States Court of Appeals. Mr. Siegal was a partner at Hellring Lindeman Goldstein & Siegal LLP, where he specialized in complex litigation in the federal and state courts and significant family law matters. Mr. Siegal served on the committee that drafted UIFSA, and played a pivotal role in the oft cited cases of Baby M and Berrie v. Berrie.
