Roseland, NJ (December 3, 2025) – Mandelbaum Barrett PC, a full-service law firm, has announced that two partners have joined the firm in its Roseland, NJ, headquarters: Ronald L. Davison has joined the firm’s Elder Law Practice Group and Matthew P. O’Malley has joined the Litigation Group.
Ronald L. Davison
Throughout his decades-long career, Davison has represented clients in both trials and appeals. He also has also served as a court-appointed estate administrator, receiver, guardianship attorney, and attorney-trustee, giving him a deep understanding of both the responsibilities and challenges faced by fiduciaries and families. Dedicated to promoting fairness and integrity in the legal profession, since 2008, he also has served for many years as a volunteer mediator for the General Equity and Probate Parts of the Chancery Division of the Superior Court, and he previously was appointed by the New Jersey Supreme Court as Chair of both the District Ethics Committee and the District Fee Arbitration Committee. He joins Mandelbaum Barrett PC from Starr, Gern, Davison & Rubin, P.C. in Roseland, where he was a partner.
“With more than 50 years of experience, Davison’s practice is focused on the intersection of elder law and litigation, helping families, fiduciaries, and beneficiaries resolve complex estate and trust issues,” noted Richard I. Miller, a partner and Chair of the Elder Law Practice Group. “His work representing clients in estate, trust, and guardianship matters, including disputes involving wills, fiduciaries, and asset protection, is a valuable and well-timed addition to our growing practice.”
He is admitted to practice before the New Jersey State Courts and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the U.S. Tax Court.
An active member of the Essex County Bar Association and the New Jersey State Bar Association, Davison is also a former lecturer and assistant dean at Rutgers Law School. He earned his B.A. with high honors from Rutgers College in New Brunswick and his J.D. from Rutgers Law School in Newark, where he was the Articles Editor of the Rutgers Law Review.
Matthew P. O’Malley
O’Malley focuses his practice on guiding clients through complex litigation involving insurance, professional liability, and workplace torts. He also serves as local counsel for national law firms, providing guidance on New Jersey practice and procedure in both state and federal courts, and advocating for clients as they navigate complex litigation. He joins Mandelbaum Barrett from Tompkins, McGuire, Wachenfeld & Barry LLP in Roseland, where he was a partner.
“Matt has earned a well-known reputation for his thorough preparation, practical solutions, and skilled advocacy,” noted Michael A. Saffer, Co-Chair of the Firm’s Litigation Group. “He is a seasoned trial attorney, a great addition to our Litigation Department, and we look forward to working with him.”
He is admitted to practice in New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. O’Malley is an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and a member of its Malpractice Insurance Committee.
O’Malley earned his J.D. from Rutgers School of Law – Newark, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Rutgers Law Review and received the Alumni Senior Prize for outstanding achievement and promise as a future member of the legal profession. He holds a B.A. cum laude from Drew University, where he was a Drew Scholar and a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha political science honor society.
“I’m honored to join Mandelbaum Barrett PC’s Litigation Group and look forward to working alongside a team with such deep experience and dedication.
